Skip to Content’s Spring into STEM Program in Toronto

By Barb Smeltzer March 13, 2016 in Toronto is pleased to announce the Spring into STEM program, running March 15 and 16 onsite at our Salesforce office at 10 Bay Street.

Toronto CoderDojoPartnering with Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club – Regent Park and Technovation, 30 young people will spend a portion of their spring break learning about the world of STEM through coding and speaker sessions.

Expanding’s commitment to Coderdojo, Kiwanis members grades 4 – 6 will spend the afternoon of Tuesday, March 15 on coding projects, Raspberry Pi building kits, and enjoy an exciting tour of the Salesforce office towers. The Salesforce Toronto Coderdojo chapter launched in December of last year with a weekly dojo onsite at the Regent Park Clubhouse. Spring into STEM allows for the members to come on-site to Salesforce as part of our special Dojo Day initiatives.

On Wednesday, March 16, Salesforce will host young women ages 13 – 19 from Technovation, a global technology entrepreneurship program for girls, which has recently launched in Toronto. Participants will spend the day engaged in a series of sessions delivered by Salesforce employees who will speak to corporate culture, our philanthropic model, cloud technology, being a woman in STEM and job shadowing.

The entire Spring into STEM program is delivered by Salesforce employee volunteers who are passionate about mentoring the younger generation in technology to succeed in the 21st century workplace.
