Nonprofit Experience @ Salesforce World Tour Amsterdam!

Heading to Salesforce World Tour Amsterdam? Not sure what to expect?
We spoke to Sjoerd Woltjer, Salesforce Administrator and Project Manager at Mocca Amsterdam to get his thoughts on what to expect as a nonprofit attending the biggest cloud expo in the Netherlands!
Here’s what he told us…
Why did you decide to go to last year’s Salesforce World Tour?
The goal of attending the event was to grow my knowledge of Salesforce. At Mocca Amsterdam, we help schools develop their art curriculum and we’re using Salesforce to manage our projects. I heard that there were specific sessions focused on nonprofits at the World Tour so it seemed like a great opportunity to learn from the Salesforce community and also to meet new people.
What was your first impression of the event?
This was my first time at this type of event, usually conferences in the Netherlands are much smaller in scale, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I was impressed – the entire event is overwhelming in its professionalism, and the relevance of its content. It was a great day to learn, meet new people and just to immerse yourself all things Salesforce.
And the highlights of the day?
From a fun perspective, I really enjoyed the keynote – it was completely different from what I thought. You got the full Salesforce experience, with video, screens, and lots of action. And from a learning perspective, meeting with the Salesforce.org team and attending the breakout sessions – I came back with so much information and so many ideas. It was truly inspiring.
What advice would you give to people going to World Tour this year?
Talk with as many people as possible; everyone is so full of knowledge so it would be a pity not to make the most of it. I would also recommend to check out the Salesforce University stand and hear about the training and courses available, and of course the nonprofit breakouts – these give a great insight into how other nonprofits are using Salesforce.
Anything else?
Meet the Netherlands nonprofit usergroup at their stand! They (including me) will be there throughout the day to answer questions and to chat to nonprofits and anyone else interested in learning more about the group. We can also give tips on the best sessions and activities happening throughout the day.
