By February 29, 2016

For the month of February, we are proud to highlight the community contributions of Deb Van Zegeren, Kalman Sweetwine, and Missy Longshore. Thanks to Deb, Kalman, and Missy for all you do!

Deb Van ZegerenDeb Van Zegeren
Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation

Two truths and one lie about Deb:

  1. I have never owned a brand new car
  2. I play in a women’s softball league
  3. I have three sewing machines

Why is community important to you? What motivates you to contribute?

The people who make up the HUB community don’t just provide answers to Salesforce questions, they cheer each other on to accomplish goals as small as creating a new formula field to as big as traveling to Ethiopia to train new users. As a lone admin for a small nonprofit, it’s a priceless resource both for the knowledge it offers but, perhaps as important, for the companionship. I am indebted to this community and that motivates me to offer what I can as often as I can.

Kalman SweetwineKalman Sweetwine
Office of Information Technology, University of Colorado Boulder

Two truths and one lie about Kalman:

  1. I have lived on 4 continents
  2. I do not touch technology for 1 day / every week
  3. I have toured in a band

Why is community important to you? What motivates you to contribute?

Community has & continues to play a large role in my life. Community is where on the ground changes spark & inspire much larger shifts. I appreciate collaboration, safe dialog, & an environment that pushes for social & economic change. I am motivated by other like-minded technologically inclined change-makers. We are the collective force(.com) allowing thousands of organizations the opportunity to harness and stretch technology. This is bigger than us – we are truly making global changes. We all have so much to share and I continue to gain so much from being in relationship with this community.

Missy LongshoreMissy Longshore
Longshore Consulting

Two truths and one lie about Missy:

  1. I’ve been a car free vegetarian for 20+ years
  2. I speak Wolof
  3. The Netherlands is my favorite place – don’t you dare call it Holland!

Why is community important to you? What motivates you to contribute?

I love community because it’s impossible to know everything. Every time I ask a question I try to answer two other questions. It’s also just a lot of fun and I love hearing about Girlforce members earning their Salesforce certifications thanks to the free peer support we offer!
