Countdown to #GivingTuesday: T-Minus 2 Weeks

By Lori Freeman November 16, 2016

Giving Tuesday
We’ve all heard of Black Friday, the post-Thanksgiving sales extravaganza that sweeps across retailers each year. And with the advent of online shopping, these deals extended into the e-tailer space with Cyber Monday.

But not everyone knows about #GivingTuesday, a growing movement for people to give back on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, largely powered by social media. If Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the pre-holiday shopping season, you could say #GivingTuesday kicks off the end-of-year fundraising season.

Started in 2012 at the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at 92nd Street Y, #GivingTuesday has since grown tremendously. Last year alone, over $116 million dollars were raised across 71 countries under the #GivingTuesday banner. Learn more about #GivingTuesday.

As part of our mission to support nonprofits everywhere, Salesforce.org is proud to celebrate #GivingTuesday, which takes place on November 29 this year. Here are some of our favorite resources and articles from around the web to help you with your own #GivingTuesday fundraising campaign.
