Community Hero Thomas Taylor

By Salesforce.org August 31, 2014

“The community was instrumental to how I learned Salesforce as a new admin, and continuing to participate pays that forward, while building and maintaining my own skills.”
– Thomas Taylor

Thomas TaylorWe are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Power of Us HUB by recognizing 30 community members who have been instrumental in supporting the growing community of nonprofit and higher ed Salesforce users.

Today’s community hero is Thomas Taylor (@tet3), Principal Consultant at roundCorner. A top contributor in the Power of Us HUB, Thomas alone has answered hundreds of questions. In addition to providing thoughtful and complete answers, pointing Hubbers-in-need to the right resources, and presenting at user group meetings, Thomas also submitted the first ‘official’ community contribution to Nonprofit Starter Pack 3.0. In recognition of all of his community contributions, Thomas is a two-time Salesforce MVP. What more can we say about Thomas? He’s the BEST!

Who are you (in 250 words or less)?

“I began working in nonprofit technology in 1991 at the International Peace Bureau, and was an “accidental techie” enough times that I became a full-time techie in 2003. When I’m not helping nonprofits use Salesforce at roundCorner or on the Hub, I play cribbage, cook great food, and goof off with my kids.”

How long have you been working with Salesforce products?

“Since 2007.”

What quick tip would you give someone getting started with Salesforce?

“Use Ctrl-click/middle-click to open records in a new tab without losing your place from a list view, related list, or lookup field. Benefits of a browser-based application!”

As a thank-you for all Thomas has done for the community over the last year, the Foundation is donating $250 to a nonprofit of his choice.
