Community Hero Kyla Longe

By Salesforce.org August 18, 2014

“I love building community, mentoring others, and laughing with my Salesforce friends. Helping others & seeing their success is the best reward!”
– Kyla Longe

Kyla LongeWe are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Power of Us HUB by recognizing 30 community members who have been instrumental in supporting the growing community of nonprofit and higher ed Salesforce users.

Today’s community hero is Kyla Longe (@seriouslykyla), a self-described “Salesforce Super Fan” and Senior Project Manager at Arkus. In addition to hosting Foundation Office Hours with her fellow Salesforce MVPs, Kyla is a top contributor in the HUB who has answered hundreds of questions while also helping to guide HUB community best practices. Additionally, she serves as co-leader of the Austin Developer User Group, is a co-founder of the Girly Geeks Austin Chapter, and helps to organize and lead Salesforce certification study groups. In short, she ROCKS!

Who are you (in 250 words or less)?

“I’m an action-oriented, entrepreneurial spirit that worked my way from Accidental SFDC Admin at a quasi-governmental organization to lead the Austin Nonprofit SF User Group. Now, I’m five-times certified, two-times Salesforce MVP with a mission to helping nonprofits leverage their Salesforce & processes better. I also dance with a Samba group, run with the Texas Beef Team, and hang with my dog.”

How long have you been working with Salesforce products?

“Since 2008.”

What quick tip would you give someone getting started with Salesforce?

“Immerse yourself in Salesforce: user groups, online communities, training videos, Dreamforce YouTube recordings!”

As a thank-you for all Kyla has done for the community over the last year, the Foundation is donating $250 to a nonprofit of her choice.
