Community Hero Judi Sohn

By August 15, 2014

“I love learning and sharing what I’ve learned. I love getting feedback that my response solved someone’s problem. It’s what it’s all about to me. ”
– Judi Sohn

Judi Sohn Community HeroWe are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Power of Us HUB  by recognizing 30 community members who have been instrumental in supporting the growing community of nonprofit and higher ed Salesforce users.

Today’s community hero is Judi Sohn (@judis217). Judi is currently a Sr. Solution Architect at Kell Partners. Prior to becoming a consultant, Judi implemented Salesforce at a nonprofit organization AND co-moderated and regularly contributed to the Nonprofit Practitioners Google group – one of the first “communities” where nonprofit users came together to help each other better use Salesforce. Judi was first recognized as a Salesforce MVP in 2013 and she is currently the all-time leader in the number of questions answered in the HUB. In fact, over the past year, she has answered nearly 500 questions in the HUB alone. She’s basically CRUSHING this whole “community” thing. Judi, please don’t ever change!

Who are you (in 250 words or less)?

“My journey started in late 2004 when I helped start Fight Colorectal Cancer after the death of my father from the disease. My role at the organization was around operations and technology, and I learned how to make our very tiny organization operate efficiently and look a lot larger than it was . . . mostly due to Salesforce. Now as Sr. Solution Architect at KELL Partners, I get to play in Salesforce all day, work with amazing organizations that inspire and challenge me and I’m constantly learning something new and exciting. There’s nothing else I’d rather be doing.”

How long have you been working with Salesforce products?

“Since 2006.”

What quick tip would you give someone getting started with Salesforce?

“Focus on the specific problem you’re trying to solve. Salesforce is huge and getting bigger and bigger every release. Don’t expect you’re going to learn it all right away or you’ll get overwhelmed and frustrated. Take it one step a time.”

As a thank-you for all Judi has done for the community over the last year, the Foundation is donating $250 to a nonprofit of her choice.
