By Salesforce.org August 14, 2014

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
― Margaret Mead

joni_martinWe are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Power of Us HUB  by recognizing 30 community members who have been instrumental in supporting the growing community of nonprofit and higher ed Salesforce users.

Today’s community hero is Joni Martin, Concierge at Now IT Matters.  Joni started a group in the Power of Us HUB called Girlforce – a “superSHEro society committed to empowering women and girls in technology through professional and personal development, education, community involvement, and a network of combined resources.” Joni is the self-titled “Salesforce Doula” at Girlforce where she helps connect members and organize events ranging from social happy hours to certification study groups. Joni is regularly a top contributor in the HUB and her leadership in bringing people together for comraderie, support, and personal skill building represents the best of what a community has to offer. Like the mail carrier, Joni, you always deliver. THANK YOU!

Who are you (in 250 words or less)?

“I am a non-profit advocate who is committed to building the capacity of nonprofit organizations through technology. I have my dream job, helping to align vision with technology that serves the nonprofit sector, from my Texas back porch on nice weather days! My passions include writing, dreaming, geeking out, coffee, and community.”

How long have you been working with Salesforce products?

“2 years.”

What quick tip would you give someone getting started with Salesforce?

“Join a community and get involved on the Power of Us Hub! There are a wealth of free resources and super helpful people in the HUB.”

As a thank-you for all Joni has done for the community over the last year, the Foundation is donating $250 to a nonprofit of her choice.
