Community Hero Ehren Foss

By Salesforce.org August 11, 2014

“I enjoy it when I can show someone how to avoid a thorny problem I spent too much time on. Plus, there aren’t many other ways to help 20,000+ nonprofits with technology at the same time. ”
– Ehren Foss

Ehren FossWe are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Power of Us HUB  by recognizing 30 community members who have been instrumental in supporting the growing community of nonprofit and higher ed Salesforce users.

Today’s community hero is Ehren Foss (@ehrenfoss), a Problem Solver with EverTrue consulting. Ehren contributed to the development of the free and open source Nonprofit Starter Pack App via the community dev sprints and participated in the pilot “NPSP Contributors” community (the testing ground for what would eventually become the Power of Us HUB). He is consistently a top contributor in the HUB, regularly hosts our weekly Foundation Office Hours, and was recently renewed as an official Salesforce MVP. Ehren, please keep being AWESOME!

Who are you (in 250 words or less)?

“Until last year, I was a Salesforce consultant and product builder working with nonprofits. These days, I help EverTrue’s higher ed and independent schools with the interchange of data between EverTrue and their core CRM. I also administrate our Salesforce instance and do my best to keep entropy at bay.”

How long have you been working with Salesforce products?

“Since 2008.”

What quick tip would you give someone getting started with Salesforce?

“Click every button and link. Leave no stone unturned. Also, just say no to multi-select picklists and use checkboxes instead.”

As a thank-you for all Ehren has done for the community over the last year, the Foundation is donating $250 to a nonprofit organization of his choosing.
