Bring A Can To Dreamforce — Help Us Reach One Million Meals!

Cross-posted on salesforce.com
Dreamforce is our community’s annual celebration. We come together to celebrate innovation. We share ideas and network. And we give back. The Dreamforce community always gives back.
This year, the Dreamforce community is coming together to deliver One Million Meals to fight hunger. Most of us are fortunate enough to know where our next meal is coming from, but more than 1 in 8 across the world are not as fortunate. And in the San Francisco Bay Area that number is a startling 1 in 4.
The good news is that hunger is an issue where action can make a difference. In fact, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, twenty-six million more people received sufficient food to meet their dietary needs in 2011-2013 than the two years before.
Here is how you can join the One Million Meals food drive and make a difference today:
1. Bring a can to Dreamforce! We’re encouraging every attendee to bring a can–or two–to support this effort. The items the food banks need the most are canned meats, tuna, beans, soups, peanut butter and granola bars.
2. Engage your community. Start your own One Million Meals fundraising campaign and leverage the power of your own network to raise awareness and support. Post a picture on your social media networks of the can you’re bringing with you to Dreamforce, use the hashtag #DFGives and nominate your friends and coworkers to bring one as well!
Here’s an example from our very own CMO, Lynn Vojvodich:
I'm donating cans to #dfgives! @andrewschmitt @lazerow @pink94109 your turn! Share a pic & nominate others #DF14 pic.twitter.com/Pp9WH9BoBl

3. Donate now. Every dollar donated will provide 4 meals to those in need.
All food and donations will go directly to our partner organizations which are working tirelessly to fight hunger locally and around the world. Questions? Head to the #DFGives One Million Meals Success Community.
And the One Million Meals campaign is just one of the ways we’ll be giving back at Dreamforce. We’ll be holding activities to support children’s health and education, help vets transition home, and integrate philanthropy into every business. Visit www.DFGives.org to see what we have planned each day and how to get involved.
So whether you’ll be with us Dreamforce or not, we hope you’ll join our community in giving back today.
